Downtown Disney - Day 1

Downtown Disney has always been a place to hang out after a long car ride and even after we didn't have a room at the time we showed up at Downtown Disney and the area was there for us to hang out at and I found a few more pins to my pin collection.                                

            Our dinner at Planet Hollywood was as amazing it could have been. Being surrounded by movie memorabilia while enjoying a Philly cheese steak, it was basically heaven.                                           Following our meal at Planet Hollywood we explored the many stores that Downtown Disney has to offer. Of course stopping at the World of Disney to see all of the merchandise. To end the day we stopped at the baby cakes bakery for dessert, a gluten free dessert I might add. 

The entire drive was exhausting but by knowing that we had the magic of Disney waiting for us in the end helped immensely to get through it and of course the Waffle House count helped. 

51 Waffle Houses

We have finally arrived!! And we counted 51 Waffle Houses on our way down, but there were probably even more as there are more Waffles Houses south of Illinois than there are Starbucks. We're checking into our first, off-resort hotel, before we go to Downtown Disney and eat at Planet Hollywood for the first day of our vacation!

Mickey Mouse Waffles

11 days and the need to have a Mickey Mouse waffle is growing. Seriously I think this might be a major issue, normal waffles will not cure this hunger and the only thing that will is a Mickey Mouse waffle, or just being at Disney World. Only 11 days!

I also got a Hidden Mickey books and 25 Disney Trading pins to use for trading, and after giving my family their favorite pins I still have 22 pins left with the extras from the last trip. It is going to be awesome. I cannot wait to get everything in the car and then being there!

Who is up for a monstrous all-nighter?

The news about the Monstrous Summer kick-off happening while we will be there has made me definitely ponder the idea of staying up all night and then spending the next day in an early morning magic hour at Animal Kingdom but who wouldn’t be considering it? I mean staying up all night in a magical park like Magic Kingdom and then heading to the Animal Kingdom to be woken up by a quick ride on Dinosaur and Everest sounds like a pretty good time. There should be a breakfast and a dinner in there at some point so we are all not completely unbearable. Now to try and convince everyone to get on board with my plan and then trying to convince them that we have to see Monsters’ University while we are there but if we have to leave Disney soil I will not be on board with this.

Pixie Hollow

I think stopping myself from watching the Tinker Bell films for so long has forever cursed me to be in love with them. I mean there are some things I don't like, Tinker Bell isn't the same Tinker Bell from Peter Pan but maybe in time she will get there. I think I should have thought more about what would happen if I watched all of them in one week and I think it is only reasonable that I want Pixie wings and to meet all the fairies when we go to Disney World.

Oh and 20 DAYS!!!

One more month until I can have a Mickey Premium bar!

                            
One more month and counting down until Star Wars weekends, fireworks, memorable character meetings, fantastic restaurants with amazing waiters, and the taste of a Mickey Premium bar! I haven't had one in two years and I definitely feel like I deserve it after two years of waiting.

Is it too early to start packing?

I may have already started....well, I'm excited it's forgivable. I can't wait to go on the Haunted Mansion again! Or see Illuminations again. Oh, and eat in the Be Our Guest restaurant. And meet Mickey Mouse! Alright, let's just say I can't wait to just be back.
